Little Blue Society is frequently
invited by cities, counties, homeowners associations and communities to
quickly diffuse high-profile, controversial human-animal conflicts. Our site investigations include a comprehensive written report of the findings and recommendations.
Our
Senior staff members frequently speak at wildlife management forums and
have addressed such audiences as the Northern California Woolgrowers
Association, the National Interpreters Association, the California
State Fish and Game Agency, the Federal Fish and Wildlife Services, the
United States Agricultural Department, and the World Ethics Forum,
Switzerland. We give expert testimony to governmental commissions and
advisory boards.
Part
of our mission is to steer cities and counties in the "right" direction
when it comes to wildlife management issues. We custom design
intelligent, effective programs to manage and naturally reduce the
population of invasive, non-native wildlife species. We also
design holistic livestock protection programs that also protect
wildlife and positively impacts the local ecology.
We
contract with the municipality for a brief period of time inorder to
establish the customized program and measure its effacacy, after which,
it is handed over to the proper agency to maintain.
Services we offer:
Cities, Counties, Community Associations, Developers, Private Homeowners, Business Owners, Ranchers, Farmers:
- We create interactive community forums, staffed by experts to educate the public on the most current methods for avoiding conflicts with wildlife.
- We conduct site evaluations, recommend habitat modifications and implement proactive behavioral reconditioning of wildlife in areas where it is needed.
- We design and implement (regional) management programs to naturally reduce the population of feral, non-native and invasive species.
- We permanently disperse all "nuisance" wildlife from sensitive areas, including bears, cougars and coyotes. And we provide the home or business owner a written, customized report on how to mitigate future conflicts.
- We design and implement the most current and effective techniques for protecting crops, livestock from predation, increasing productivity of rangelands and increasing revenue, while preserving the local wildlife.
Our Customized Programs:
- "Deer Control Program" decribes how we are stopping the damage to landscape and naturally reducing their population to a more tolerable number.
"Guardian Shepherd Program" describes how we are achieving a win-win-win
solution for livestock ranchers, animals welfare groups and wildlife. "Dog Safety" describes in detail our proactive campaign to educate citizens on how to avoid
potentially dangerous situations with our canine
companions. - "Feral Pigeon Population Control" describes how we are reducing the numbers of feral pigeons and keeping them away from areas of concern.
"Coexisting With Coyotes"
lists and briefly
describes our involvement in the cities and counties
where human-coyote conflicts were effectively
resolved. "Mountain Lion First Response Protocol" describes
our First Response training program designed for municipalities to
safely and effectively resolve mountain lion encounters in urban and
rural areas.
